Cat Flea
Despite the name, cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) are the most common flea species affecting both cats and dogs in Bangkok. They are small (2-3mm), dark brown, and can jump up to 30cm. They bite humans too, typically around ankles and lower legs.
Dog Flea
Dog fleas (Ctenocephalides canis) are similar in appearance to cat fleas and commonly found on dogs in Bangkok. They can also infest homes and bite humans. Both species respond equally well to diatomaceous earth treatment.
Human Flea
